12 injured in Toronto pub shooting

(DRN) - Police are searching for the culprit in a shooting at a Toronto pub on Friday. The suspect is still at large.

Toronto Police are investigating a shooting at a pub in the Canadian city. According to the local authorities, at least 12 people were injured.
Four of the injured have received non-life-threatening injuries. The extent of the injuries of the other 8 victims remains unknown, but all 12 have already been taken to the hospital.
The police reports that they were called to Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive, in an eastern area of Toronto at about 10:40 p.m. on Friday. The crime occurred near Scarborough Town Centre, a mall near Highway 401 and McCowan Road.
According to Toronto Fire Services, crews were called to 520 Progress Ave. for reports of gunfire and an active shooting that happened inside a pub.

The policesaid the suspect was reported fleeing in a silver car while wearing a black balaclava. No other details on the suspect have been released.
Toronto Mayor Chow: "All resources have been deployed"
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow has expressed her condolences to the victims: "My thoughts are with the victims and their families."
She assured that "all necessary resources have been deployed," as she has spoken to the chief of the Toronto police, Myron Demkiw.
A command post has been set up in the west end of a parking lot near the pub, police said. Progress Avenue was closed between Ellesmere Road and Highway 401 as police investigate. Police told people to avoid the area and to use alternative routes.
