Ukrainian 🇺🇦 President Volodymyr Zelenksy has sacked the head of the agency responsible for his protection after two of its officers were detained over an alleged assassination plot against Zelensky.

State Guard Service (UDO) chief Serhii Rud's dismissal was made official in a decree published on the presidential website. The UDO is tasked with the protection of the president and senior government officials, as well as the protection of administrative buildings. Just this week, 2 security officials got detained, and the colonels were accused of carrying out "subversive activities against Ukraine in exchange for financial compensation," Ukraine's Prosecutor General's 🪖 office said on Tuesday. Both got charged with treason, one with preparing a terrorist attack. The assassination of Zelensky was stopped, and the other senior Ukrainian officials, including the head of the SBU, Vasyl Maliuk, and the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov. One of the suspects received a drone and ammunition from the FSB, Russia's 🇷🇺 state security agency, which were intended to be transferred to an accomplice, who would have carried out the assassination.
