US President Biden had a three hour first-in person talk in Bali, Indonesia with ChinesenPresident Xi Xinping. Both sides agreed on one thing: They said there should never be a nuclear war, and a nuclear war should never be fought.
After the talk Biden said this about Xi: "He was clear, and I was clear that we will defend American interests and values, promote universal human rights and stand up for the international order and work in lockstep with our allies and partners." "We're going to compete vigorously but I'm not looking for conflict."
The talks about cooperation against climate change are also supposed to resume.
China had previously halted talks after Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, had journeyed to Taiwan.
The war in Ukraine, and the global economywill also surely be a topic.
