US-President Joe Biden drops out of the presidential race, announcing his decision on the social media platform X. He will serve out the remainder of his term.

Biden posted this letter ✉️ on X. Trump describes Biden going down as "the single worst president by far in the history of our country." The new Democratic nominee will be vice president Kamala Harris.

"And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for ne to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term"
