Christiano Ronaldo is leaving ManchesterUnited

Soccer star Christiano Ronaldo is leaving his club Manchester United with immediate effect. The Premier League Club said: "The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future." "Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team's progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch."

The soccer legend transferred to United last year, and could not quite fit in, eventho he had played for the club before. Ronaldo is currently in Quatar, playing in the Portugal national team in the World Cup. Nobody knows why the decision was made, but people suspect that United is reacting to an interview, where Ronaldi said that the club had "betrayed" him, and they "weren't his friends."

All this is shocking for soccer fans around the globe. If is unclear to which club Ronaldo will move to next. Ronaldo reacted with this statement: "Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early." "I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change.  However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge."

This year Ronaldo had been mostly used as a substitute.
