Could China use TikTok for propaganda ?

China could use TikTok as a weapon if they invade Taiwan, and could shape the public opinion with the help of the short-form video app. Since the release of the app security issues have continuously been pointed out. The Chinese government, who own the owners of TikTok can gather huge amounts of data about people all around the globe. US President Joe Biden is even thinking about banning the app in the United States.

TikTok CEO Shou Wen argues that "the Chinese Government has never asked us for US user data". And if they would, the company wouldn't give it to them, he said. The app could be allowed to continue in the United States, but only under certain conditions.
