Russian authorities announced on Saturday the death of the daughter of ultra nationalist philosopher Alexander Dugin. The daughter, Darya Dugin was killed in a car blast in the outskirts of Moscow, near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemy. The Toyota Land Cruiser Darya Dugin was in exploded on a public road at around 9pm local time. Dugina's father has a big influence on Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and has been called Putin's Brain, by foreign magazines and newspapers like the Austrian "Presse", which also raises suspicions that Alexander Dugin could have been the real target, as the car belonged to him. Videos showed the car catching fire and then strewn parts on the road. A friend of Dugina said in an interview that the car was engulfed in fire and slammed against the side of the road. Dugina lost control. The Russian Investigative Commitee suspects Ukraine to be behind the attack. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharhova said
"If the Ukrainian trace is confirmed… then we should talk about the policy of state terrorism implemented by the Kyiv regime. "There have been plenty of facts accumulated over the years: from political calls for violence to the leadership and participation of Ukrainian state structures in crimes."
Ukraine denied any involvement in the attack. Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the Head of the Office for the President of Ukraine said:
"Ukraine definitely has nothing to do with this because we are not a criminal state, which the Russian Federation is, and even more so, we are not a terrorist state."
Of course it could also have been the US, as some speculate. Both Dugin and his daughter had been repeatedly sanctioned by the US, for being a big contributer to false information on the war in Ukraine. Alexander Dugin also was Chief of a group which recruited people to fight in the Ukrainian region Donetsk.
