Jeff Bezos has lost his status of 2nd richest man in the world. Gautam Adani, an Indian business mogul, took over 2nd place in the Bloomberg's Billionaire Index. Jeff Bezos dropped to No.3. Adani has a fortune of $146.9 billion, and has large holdings in his Adani Group conglomerate, which operates in coal and ports. Since June 2020 shares of Adani's group rose more than 1000%, while the shares in his flagship Adani Enterprises are up to more than 115%. He overtook Indian tycoon Mukesh Ambani in February, and became Asia's richest person. Elon Musk, owner of the car company Tesla, is the wealthiest person with $260 Billion. In January Adani had been only ranked No.14, but he accomplished to become No.2 in less than 10 months. This is the first time that someone from Asia has been ranked so high in the Bloomberg list. Bezos' net worth fell to $145.8 billion, and the Amazon shares fell 3%.
