Al Shabab kills 12 People in Hotel attack

In the Somalian capital Mogadishu, the al-Qaeda affiliated organization al-Shabab killed more than 20 people in a hotel attack. The terrorist organisation entered the Hayat hotel on Friday, detonating two explosives. Dozens of people are still trapped in the hotel and being held hostage by multiple gunmen. 40 hotel guests were wounded. Al Shabab controls most of southern Somalia, and has been battling the federal government in the past few weeks. The group wants to overthrow the government and establish its own with strict interpretation of Islamic law.They have been battling the government for over 10 years. The battle against the gunmen still continue. More wounded are coming into the hospital. The siege for the hotel has been going on for over 20 hours. Similar attacks have happened by al Shabab. The attack comes as the new President steps up operations against the group.
