US-President Joe Biden has tested positive for the Corona Virus on Thursday. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the President is experiencing mild symptoms. Even though the President is double-boosted he got the virus. Joe Biden first tested positive on an antigen test and then it was confirmed by a PCR test. Vice President Kamala Harris has tested negative. President Biden already has a high risk of getting the virus because of his age - he is 79 years old. Biden will still continue all of his duties, and there are no plans to transfer executive powers to Harris. Dr. Kevin O'Connor, the President's physician said the President is mostly expierencing a runny nose and a dry cough. All upcoming presidential travels were cancelled. In the last weeks Biden had been travelling much, shaking hands and greeting people in Somerset, Massachusetts and traveling in the Middle East, shaking hands and bumping fists with world leaders. In April Vice President Kamala Harris also caught the virus, though without symptoms. The Covid cases are already rising in the US, due to the new contagious strain of the virus BA. Already more than 1 million people have died since the beginning of the pandemic in the US. Joe Biden is the second US-President to catch Covid-19; Donald Trump also had the virus.
