Liz Truss is Great Britain's new Prime Minister and leader of the Torys, Britain's Conservative Party. She has beat her rival Rishi Sunak. It took a one-week long campaign to succesfuly become prime minister. The new PM greeted Queen Elizabeth in Scotland, in Balmoral Castle. The visit is her final step to complete her ascension to prime minister. Truss is meeting the Queen, but once argued for the English monarchy to be abolished. She is the 15th PM in the 70-year reign of the Queen, and the third female PM to be welcomed by Elizabeth, who is already 96 years old. Liz Truss has reached the highest peak on her political journey.

Boris Johnson , the former prime minister stepped down shortly before the meeting between Truss and the Queen began. Johnson's time as PM was full of scandals, as he had to step down because his lawmakers lost confidence in him. Under Johnson, Great Britain exited the EU, choosing Brexit.

Truss will fly back to London, because she still has to make a statement in or outside of Downing Street. She will also have to name a new Cabinet. The senior roles will probably be taken by her allies like Kwasi Kwarteng and Suella Braverman. Two Cabinet members, both Johnson backers Nadine Dorries and Priti Patel. On Wednesday she will face the inaugural questions, where she will be probably be grilled about questions regarding the living cost crisis in the UK.
