After 3 Prime Ministers governed Malaysia in 4 years, the people of the country are heading to the election today. Political chaos marked the country, so the outcome of the election will be important. Even even though the election is important the campaign of a lot of parties was stopped because of rain showers and floods. The front runners of the election or Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who came to power last year because the government was failing in controlling the covid pandemic. The opposition of Yaakob is Anwar Ibrahim, his coalition Pakatan Harapan is doing great in the polls. Big issues are living costs, the unemployment rate and climate change. The election will probably be very subdued because a lot of people got disappointed by the outcome of the election in 2018. But the weather is also an important and surprising factor. Heavy downpour is expected in the weekend, already 3000 people had to be evacuated from their homes. It is unclear if voters will show up in large numbers. The weather means more voters of the opposition of Yaakob can come. The election is unpredictable, and the probably outcome will be a mix of all parties.
