Russia is seeking a gigantic sum of money 💰 from one of the world's biggest tech companies.

Google reportedly owes the Kremlin 2 undecillion rubles - a 2 with 36 zeros - after refusing to pay fines that are now amassing for blocking 🚫 pro-Russian YouTube channels.

The unfathomable amount is worth $2 decillion or around $20 billion trillion trillion. Despite being one of the worlds wealthiest companies, that is considerably more than the 2 trillion dollars Google is worth.

Astonishingly, the fine is even higher than the global GDP, which is estimated to be $110 trillion by the International Monetary Fund.

The Russian state media TASS reported that a Russian court had earlier ordered Google to restore the YouTube channels, or else they would face mounting charges, with penalties doubling every week. Some of the YouTube channels have been blocked since 2022.

When asked about the lawsuit on Thursday Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov admitted he "can't even pronounce this figure right" but said that the gargantuan sum was "filled with symbolism." Google "should not be restrictingthe actions of our broadcasterson its platform," he added.

After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine 🇺🇦, Google reduced operations in the country but didn't pull out altogether. Many of its services, like search in YouTube, continue to be available in the country.
