Slovakia's 🇸🇰 Prime Minister shot

Slovakia's 🇸🇰 Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot after a government meeting in Handlova, state news agency TASR reports after speaker of the Slovak Parliament Ĺuboš Blaha confirmed the news. The government was there for an off-site meeting. Several shots were fired on Fico, TASR reports.

"There was an assassination attempt on R. Fico. He was shot multiple times and is currently in a life-threatening condition. The next few hours will be decisive," said a statement on Fico's official Facebook page. The PM has been taken to the capital of Bratislava, an official statement says "an acute intervention" is necessary. Handlova is about a 2 hour drive 🚗 from Bratislava.
