Chelsea beat Real Betis 4-1 in the Conference League final after coming back from a first-half deficit, adding another European trophy to their trophy collection.

Chelsea started the game with plenty of possession. Coach Enzo Maresca's team recently managed to finish fourth in the Premier League on the final matchday, a triumph after a turbulent few years with several mega-transfers that had yet to pay off.

Although both teams appeared evenly matched at the start, Real Betis took the lead after just nine minutes. Abdessamad Ezzalzouli completed a beautifully executed attack, and the Spanish side took the lead, albeit somewhat against the flow of the game. From then on, coach Manuel Pellegrini's team dominated the game, driven by creative midfielder Isco. Chelsea attempted counterattacks, but lacked clear shots. Johnny Cardoso (21') almost increased the lead, but his shot from 12 meters was blocked for a corner.

The second half in Poland began as the first ended: Betis drove Chelsea back, unable to break free. After 10 minutes, the English team managed to gain some momentum. A dangerous volley from defender Reece James was blocked. Shortly after, Maresca brought on winger Jadon Sancho to breathe fresh air into the game. In the 65th minute, the Blues were rewarded for their efforts: a buttery-smooth cross from star player Cole Palmer was converted by Fernandez, and now the game was all open again. Just five minutes later, Palmer found himself duel with Rodríguez on the wing. An unexpected turn allowed him to deliver another perfectly placed cross, this time onto the shoulder of Nicolas Jackson, who fired his team in to make it 2-1. The game had turned!

Jackson gets a chance to score a brace in the 77th minute. He runs solo toward goal from the halfway line, with only goalkeeper Adrián in front of him, but Jackson sets the ball too far in front of him, and it rolls into the opponent's arms.

In the 83rd minute, Sancho received a perfect pass inside the penalty area from fellow substitute Dewsbury-Hall and added another with a wonderful curling shot into the far corner, making it 3-1, and the game seemed to be over. But the former Dortmund player's goal wouldn't be the last: Moises Caicedo made it 4-1 with a shot from the edge of the penalty area directly into the bottom left corner (90+1).

The following pictures are for the museum. Reece James lifts the Conference League trophy. Chelsea FC thus becomes the first club to win all current UEFA competitions, the Champions League in 2011/12 and 2020/21, and the Europa League in 2012/13 and 2018/19.

The players from Sevilla had to admit defeat after a really strong first half, taking second place in the tournament.
