A maximum of two weeks: That’s how much time Trump is giving himself to decide whether the US will join Israel in the war against Iran.

US President Donald Trump is expected to decide within the next two weeks whether his country will join the war against Iran alongside Israel. The latter is already at war with Iran.

"Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks," said the president in his statement, which was read aloud by press secretary Karoline Leavitt from the White House briefing room.

Trump made clear that he wanted diplomatic efforts with Iran to proceed before making a final decision on US military action. However, he also emphasized that he would not shy away from showing strength if necessary. Iran and the entire world should know that the US military is the strongest in the world.

For several days now, the world has been watching the United States in light of the war between Israel and Iran. That is because Israel depends on US support to eliminate Iran’s underground nuclear complex in Fordow. This is currently the most important objective for the Israeli military. Among all Western countries, only the US possesses so-called “bunker-buster” bombs capable of destroying uranium enrichment facilities buried deep inside the mountain.

escalation.

So far, the US military is not involved in the fighting, but is supporting Israel in its defense efforts.

In recent days, Trump has stressed that his top priority is not a ceasefire in this war, but rather preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. If the US were to intervene, it would mark a new, dramatic escalation.
